Geothermal District Heating & Cooling Days 2026
About this Event
Following successful events in Berlin (2022), Aarhus (2023), Paris (2024) and Vienna (2025), the 5th edition of the European Geothermal District Heating & Cooling Days will be held in Dublin (Ireland), with a full-day Conference on Thursday, 3 September 2026, followed by a half-day Workshop on Friday, 4 September. This year's events are being organised by the European Geothermal Energy Council (EGEC) and the Geothermal Association of Ireland (GAI), in association with the project (Funded by the European Union).
The European Geothermal District Heating & Cooling Conference on Thursday, 3 September, will focus on Unlocking Geothermal Heating and Cooling Markets. The Conference will bring together leaders and experts from leading companies, as well as policy makers, project developers, investors and other stakeholders from across the whole of Europe. The Conference will look at ways to accelerate the deployment of geothermal heating, cooling and thermal storage solutions for districts, local networks and industrial applications.
As part of the programme for this year’s Geothermal District Heating & Cooling Days there will be a special Evening Event at the Jameson Distillery in Dublin on Thursday evening (3 September) including: Welcome Cocktail, Distillery Tour, Whiskey Tasking and a Networking Dinner.
The half-day Geothermal District Heating & Cooling Workshop on Friday, 4 September, will focus on Making Geothermal Investable in Ireland: Finance, Risk and Delivery. This will be a unique opportunity for service providers, investors, and heating/cooling end-users from Ireland and across Europe to collaborate on defining a roadmap for growing geothermal in a new market. End-users, public sector bodies, and investors will get the chance to learn directly from geothermal companies what it takes to deliver geothermal projects. In turn, geothermal companies will get to better understand the challenges from client and investor perspectives, and how these can be solved.
UPDATE: Please note that the maximum capacity of the Workshop on Friday, 4 September, has already been reached, and therefore we have stopped selling tickets for the Workshop.
