Why are we doing this? The Geospatial Workforce Development Program focuses on the development of a skilled workforce to support the future labor demand in geospatial science and technology required by the Department of War. Through the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, the pilot program focuses on strengthening the geospatial workforce pipeline in St. Louis, MO and Washington D.C. by assessing the geospatial workforce landscape, expanding and accelerating geospatial training and education, supporting a global geospatial science and technology research hub, fostering community partnerships, and increasing employment opportunities. Strengthening workforce development pipelines and creating a job-ready labor force of skilled tacticians and problem solvers, takes steps providing DoD with the next generation of geospatial scientists and technologists.
