Come celebrate the life of Georgia "Mother Rose" Peat West as a time to remember and cherish the memories we shared, and honor the impact she had on all of us.

A proud second-generation Sacramentan, Georgia’s infectious energy lit up every room she entered. Born and raised in Oak Park, she was a mother, a mentor, a friend, and a hero to all who knew her.

As the founder of Underground Books in Oak Park, Mother Rose worked tirelesy to transform the neighborhood bookstore into a literary cultural hub by mentoring dozens of Sacramento High School students, hosting book signings and speaker series with best-selling authors, and introducing young readers to the joy of reading through children's events.

Mother Rose will be remembered for her boundless energy, radiant smile, and as someone who lived a remarkable life defined by love, resilience, and an unyielding dedication to her family and the Oak Park community.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the “Mother Rose Fund” at St. HOPE Academy (www.sthope.org or P.O. Box 5447, Sacramento, CA 95817), ensuring her legacy of education and service lives on.
