About this Event
Filled with magic, folklore, unforgettable worlds, bold characters, and even a touch of romance, fantasy is an exciting genre that sparks the imagination.
Award-winning writer and tutor Aylish Dowsett will guide you in crafting your own fantastical stories, as you connect with like-minded enthusiasts of the genre. This hands-on workshop welcomes both beginners to writing, and experienced writers looking to hone their craft or try something new.
In this workshop you will:
• Learn the foundations of fantasy writing and how to create your own unique worlds and characters
• Be introduced to strategies to ignite your creativity and beat writer’s block
• Develop ideas for your own fantasy stories through guided writing exercises
• Gain confidence in a supportive environment with an experienced tutor.
Cost: $8.50
Age: 18-29
Experience: No experience required.
Equipment: Paper and pen.
About the Facilitator:
Aylish Dowsett is an award-winning writer, tutor, and copywriter. She teaches creative writing at The Writers’ Studio, The Writing Quarter, Creative Writing Ink, and St George and Sutherland Community College. Her work has been published in Mythrill Fiction, Collider, Honi Soit, Grapeshot, The Quarry, and many others. She loves cats and all things weird and British.
