Along with Art Neville, Leo Nocentelli and Zigaboo Modeliste, New Orleans R premier funk band of the 60s and 70s. Porter remained in demand as a session musician for many years, and Runnin Partner, his own 1990 album on Rounder, displayed his multi-faceted approach.
