ARTIST INO:
George Porter Jr. is best known as the bassist of The Meters, and co-founded the group along with Art Neville, Leo Nocentelli and Joseph Zigaboo Modeliste in the mid 60's.
The Meters came to be recognized as one of the progenitors of Funk.
Joining Porter on guitar, Joe Marcinek tours nationally from New York to LA and everywhere in between.
Joe has hosted and been featured by many prominent artists including Eric Gales, Bernie Worrell (P-Funk, Talking Heads), Melvin Seals (Jerry Garcia Band), Ivan Neville (Dumpstaphunk), Tal Wilkenfeld (Jeff Beck), Alan Evans (Soulive), Kris Myers (Umphrey's McGee), Tony Hall (Dumpstaphunk, Dave Mathews & Friends), and Shaun Martin (Snarky Puppy, Kirk Franklin) just to name a few!
Heavy Spirits is a Funk & Soul outfit formed in Fall 2021. Consolidated from various projects in the NW OH music scene; the band has a rotating cast of members allowing for every concert to remain a fresh experience.
Some core members of Heavy Spirits have put in almost a decade of creating music together to forge an odyssey of history in various projects.
