Boundless: A Manifestation of Self Expression

Thursday, November 3rd | 6:00 PM

*Newly added : Exclusive George Clinton Interview - 5:30 pm *

“Put a glide in your slide and a dip in your hip,” and enjoy the boundless narrative George Clinton is bringing to the National Museum of African American Music.'

George Clinton is not limited to one form of expression; he creates another universe. He challenged the sonic limitations of genres. From “I Just Want To Testify” (1967) to “Burning Down The House” (2019), he pushed the parameters of soul and R&B with the psychedelic sound of funk music. While secluded during the pandemic, this royalty of funk had a hunger for self-expression and a desire for creative conversation. In response, Dr. Funkenstein shifted dimensions from “doing it in 3D” and brought the funk to canvas for this exhibit. Do not miss his latest iteration of the funk through the visual arts.
