Join us for a discussion with Culver City local Jonathan Blake and Nicola Twilley for Jonathan's new book "Children of a Modest Star: Planetary Thinking for an Age of Crises." The DTLA-based Berggruen Institute scholar will present his vision for a new political system fit for our "planetary age." The book has been praised by Kim Stanley Robinson as "crucial," Pankaj Mishra as "bold and bracing," and Anne-Marie Slaughter as offering "real ideas for how inhabitants of the planet can govern ourselves at multiple scales."
About the author
Jonathan S. Blake is Associate Director at the Berggruen Institute, where he leads the Planetary Program. He is the author of Contentious Rituals: Parading the Nation in Northern Ireland (2019).
