About this Event
Embark on a journey through time and learn about the geologic history of the Hudson Valley on this 4-mile hike through the Buttermilk Hill area with our resident geologist, Kim Fendrich. We’ll stop at 4 sites along the way and observe evidence of tectonic activity, glaciation, weathering and erosion.
Please bring water and a snack and be prepared to move at a brisk pace; some hiking experience is recommended.
Leashed dogs are welcome. Wear sun protection and comfortable closed-toed shoes. Long pants tucked into your socks are recommended to prevent exposure to ticks and poison ivy; we will be going off trail briefly.
Suggested for ages 10+.
Meet in the Historic Hudson Valley parking lot at 639 Bedford Rd, Tarrytown, NY 10591.
In the event of rain, the hike may be postponed; you will be notified by 5 pm the day prior.
Max: 20 people
