Simple, supportive yoga practices to help you feel stronger and more confident in your movement.Did you know that most hip fractures—around 95%—happen because of falls? Maintaining balance, core strength, and confidence in how we move is essential—not only for reducing the risk of falls but for continuing to live with greater freedom and ease.
This small-group, 2-hour workshop offers gentle, accessible yoga practices designed to support better balance and stability. Expect a calm, focused environment, personalized guidance, and time to explore each movement with care.
We’ll build strength and awareness from the ground up—starting with your feet and hips. You’ll discover effective ways to engage your core for greater steadiness, then explore real-life balance practices that help you feel more confident and stable in everyday activities.
In this workshop, you will:
- Learn yoga-based tools to support better balance and coordination
- Build awareness and strength in your feet, legs, hips, and core
- Practice gentle, functional yoga movements that foster confidence in movement on and off the mat
- Take home simple movements you can keep practicing to feel stronger and more confident
This workshop is ideal for anyone who wants to feel more grounded, stable, and confident in their movement—whether you’re brand-new to yoga or already have some experience.
Because of the personalized nature of this workshop, class size is limited to 10 participants. All levels are welcome.
About Jan
Jan Michael is an experienced yoga teacher (E-RYT 200) with an additional 300-hour certification in yoga & wellness education. Jan specializes in creating safe, supportive practices that build better balance, helping students develop strength, awareness, and confidence in ways that feel accessible, empowering, and enjoyable.
Accessibility
If you’d prefer not to sit or lay on the floor, please contact the studio to reserve one of our cushioned yoga platforms. These platforms allow you to sit and move to a lying position without having to get down onto the floor.
