GENESIS with The L.A. Choral Lab
About this Event
Genesis focuses on creativity as the central force in our universe. Creation as an invitation, not a decree. A force capable of binding broken fragments to forge something rare and golden through sacred performance rites.
We invite you to join us in the Spring of 2027 in the Sanctuary of First Congregational Church of Los Angeles as we celebrate composers and their passion to continually recreate the world around us. Genesis premiers a work by our very own accompanist Wells Leng for 4-hands piano as well as a multi-movement piece by LA local composer Jasper Randall. We’ll include a composition by LACL conductor and singer Saunder Choi with vibraphone and double bass as well as a four-movement work Parturition by Canadian composer Francesca Hauser on the topic of childbirth, concealed pain, and the artistic journey. All of the above performed with the voices of twenty-six of Los Angeles’ finest singers. Come rejoice in musical magic as we repurpose the world into the fantasy of our own design.
