General Meeting with Guest Speaker, Brian Langley
Brian is an award-winning bush poet and entertaining “storyteller in rhyme”, known for his clever, perfectly structured poetry with a modern twist. Brian’s dad had a love of Rhyming Poetry, so he grew up to the stories of Banjo Paterson, Henry Lawson, CJ Dennis, Rudyard Kipling and others of his era. Instead of the traditional bush themes, Brian writes about the things we all recognise—getting older, travelling, fishing, and everyday Australian life—delivered with humour, warmth and a touch of reflection.
With a mission to “make ’em laugh, make ’em cry, make ’em think,” Brian has been entertaining audiences across WA for years at retirement villages, seniors’ centres and festivals. Expect a lively, engaging performance from a true character of the poetry world—complete with his signature bowler hat and waistcoat!
