Monthly reggae disco in North-East London. The night is named after sadly departed MC Earl Anthony Robinson, the voice behind classic deejay tunes such as "Drunken Master".For our October session we're excited to welcome the dynamite duo of Dave Russell and Barry Issac to select tunes for us.
Both Dave and Barry have been buying and selling records since the 1960s. Dave is known to a lot of London based reggae fans for his stall in Camden Market which he ran from 1989. Between them they have supplied all the top selectors with rare records over the years and possess a deep knowledge of amazing 45s from the golden age of Jamaican music.
Barry is also a musical artist, initially forming a band in the mid-70s known as Ras Isaacs And The Rasses, prior to the emergence of the Royal Rasses. The band enjoyed a strong local following in north London and the Midlands where they performed in the roots and culture style. The group disbanded in 1980 and Isaac concentrated on a solo career. In the late 80s Isaacs formed the Reggae On Top label, which he continues to run to this day, releasing a steady stream of conscious roots and tough steppers tunes.
Come and listen to some of the greatest music ever made in a beautiful old school social club.
