About this Event
Join Professor Tanya Evans for Family History Month with her observations on the transition of family history over the past 15 years from an amateur hobby into a recognised discipline and commercial industry.
She will also share her recent collaborative research projects with family historians and community history organisations, as well as her upcoming launch of a new undergraduate Family History unit at Macquarie University, in partnership with the Society of Australian Genealogists.
About the presenter
Tanya Evans is a Professor of History at Macquarie University. She is a public historian who specialises in family history, cultural heritage, history and sport, and more. She examines how history operates in everyday life and is passionate about researching ordinary people and places from the past.
