Gender Creative Families

This is a support group for parents and caregivers of gender creative children between the ages of 4 - 14. New families are welcome to join at any point throughout the year and you are welcome to attend based on your availability or interest in the evening's topic. Gender creative children are kids who express their gender in ways that are different than what is expected based on their assigned sex at birth. This includes children who may be questioning their gender, transgender, gender fluid, non-binary, two spirit, or those who express their gender in creative ways.

The group is an opportunity for caregivers to share stories, support each other in a non-judgmental atmosphere, and learn more about how to support their gender creative kids. The group is facilitated by a Counselor at Centre for Sexuality (formerly Calgary Sexual Health Centre) however is NOT a counselling or therapeutic group.

This group is closed to only families and natural supports (parents, caregivers, guardians, extended family) of gender creative children. Please RSVP so we know who to expect at each meeting.

PLEASE NOTE WE ARE BACK IN PERSON FROM MARCH 2022. No vaccination proof required and although masking is suggested, they are not mandatory.
