Gender and Sexuality Marketing Research In the Global South ECR Workshop
About this Event
Gender and Sexuality Marketing Research In the Global South ECR Workshop
The shifting global landscape of imperialism, colonialism, and globalisation has intensified critical reflection on the persistence of Eurocentric epistemologies that continue to structure knowledge production across marketing and consumer culture disciplines. Alongside, in the current political climate, the world is witnessing a right-wing political turn that is reshaping legal, technological, and broader social domains to marginalise gender and sexual minority communities further.
In response, we call for empirical, conceptual, and methodological discussion that examines how gender- and sexuality-based marketing practices emerge across global contexts and how contemporary marketing scholarship can engage these dynamics in ethically responsible and theoretically generative ways.
Join us in person or online for an exciting workshop focused on gender and sexuality marketing research in the Global South. This event is perfect for early-career researchers eager to explore fresh perspectives, share ideas, and build connections in a casual, welcoming setting. Don't miss out on this chance to dive deep into important topics and expand your network!
The workshop is open to researchers of all academic levels. The workshop is free to attend, with a limited number of domestic travel bursaries available for non-London-based ECRs on a first-come, first-served basis.
