Gem City Swing has opened the doors (and the dance floor) to swing dancers of all skill levels with lessons and social dancing!Schedule Every Tuesday:
7:00 pm - Lessons: $5 Lesson + Dance Pass (June only!)
8-9:30 pm - Social Dance: $5 Dance Pass Only
***June 25th: Band Night Price= $10***
Lindy Hop Fundamentals:
- No experience or dance partner required! Never been swing dancing before? Drop in our lesson starting at 7 pm!. We’ll teach you what you need to get out on the floor!
- Throughout the lesson we rotate partners frequently to give everyone a chance to practice moves, so show up even if you don’t have a dance partner. Each week will feature a different selection of moves but every lesson will also cater to brand new beginners too! So come back each week for new material and bring your friends!!
Lindy Hop Next Steps:
- There will be no Next Steps class offered in June as we are highly encouraging everyone to attend the full Lindy Hop Fundamentals series. It will be a good opportunity to brush up on our basics and understand what beginners will be learning each week!
Social Dance:
- Our social dance is a great opportunity to practice what you’ve just learned in the lessons, explore new music, and meet new friends! Throughout the night we have a snowball dance (an introductory activity that gets everyone dancing), announcements about other dancing opportunities in the area, and birthday jams (celebrations for those having a birthday this month) – make sure to stick around!
Indoor swing dancing (or any partner dancing for that matter) is a high risk activity. We strongly recommend that everyone vaccinate and if you do not feel well, please stay home and get well so you can come join us on the dance floor.
