We're very happy to present the next edition of Gelre Blues in Nijmegen! This time with blues dance workshops ánd a party with LIVE MUSIC! On Sunday September 28th, we'll welcome the amazing blues band Liquid & Bones and blues dance teacher Renske Bongers in Nijmegen. Schedule:
13.00-14.30: Blues dance workshop for improvers
15.00-16.00: Blues dance taster class for absolute beginners
16.00-19.00: Blues dance party with Liquid & Bones!
Renske will be teaching a blues dance workshop for improvers ánd a taster class for absolute beginners. So if you've never danced blues before, this is your chance to try it out!! Renske will make sure to get you groovin' on the dancefloor to the danceable music of Liquid & Bones!
If you already have some blues dancing experience, you can join the improvers workshop. This workshop will be all about connection, with the beat and beyond the beat!
Workshop description:
Let's go fundamental! Want to dance comfortably to different types of Blues music? Find your groove and maintain a good connection with your partner? Then this is your workshop! In this workshop we will dive into pulse, groove, and how to find common ground in our connection. How to use the beat and go beyond the beat to dance and express the music we hear. Both when we go fast and slow!

There's no need to register for the absolute beginners taster and the party. Just show up!

Party with live music: donation based (to be able to continue to organise events like this and invite great dance teachers and bands, a donation is very much appreciated!)

About Liquid & Bones:
Liquid & Bones is a passionate yet quirky blues quartet that plays to make you dance. Singer Loes Jongerling, guitar player Marco Tinari, drummer Collin van den Broek and double bass player Lotte Dijkstra celebrate all that blues can be. From slow and atmospheric to upbeat and goofy. They are inspired by the first recordings of Memphis Minnie, the guitar play by ´the Texas razor´ Albert Collins, the undeniable Chicago shuffle and the sliding sounds from the Mississippi Delta. They take their own spin and will make it impossible to sit still!
About Renske:
Renske's love for dancing started when she was 3 years old. She might have tried almost everything there is, but her love for dancing stuck with Blues. In her classes she loves to spread her joy for dancing, diving into how to use your body, playing around, and discovering together who you are as a dancer. Be ready to get a boost of energy in her classes!
Gelre Blues is a collaboration between dance communities in Wageningen, Arnhem and Nijmegen. Our goal is to spread our love for blues music and blues dancing in Gelderland!
