🔥🔥🔥 GELLERUP SESSIONS no. 2 🔥🔥🔥Presenting ⊳⊳⊳⊳ /// KALAHA /// ⟦DK⟧ ⟦🇩🇰⟧
📣📣 ABOUT GELLERUP SESSIONS:
We are creating a concert format, to minimize the distance between stage and audience. Bringing the guest and the performer closer to each other. Gellerup Sessions is the result. The evenings will consist of three elements:
1. 🥘🍛 First, a communal dinner at our house at Gellerup Højskole, with both the band and the audience. With room for conversations about both the music, the weather and everything in between.
2. 🎤🎤 After the meal, we will host a Q&A with the artist about their music and who they are. They will talk about how their music is made and how they perform, giving a behind-the-scenes look at the music-making process.
3. ♬♫ Finally, there will, of course, be a concert with the artist – in a simple and fairly low-key setup, with changing venues in Gellerup. Semi-unplugged, one might say.
It will be some incredibly nice, intimate, and engaging evenings, made in collaboration with turkis. 🫶
See and read more about the other concerts at our Facebook page.

ABOUT KALAHA
Kalaha is known for setting the dance floor on fire and putting the audience into a trance.
As a listener, one moment you’re on a high-speed car chase through the bazaar in Istanbul, and the next you’re floating in the cosmic eternity of the room, only to land in a dusty village in Mali.
Elements of everything from acid rock and improvised jazz to Anatolian funk and acid techno have been part of Kalaha’s expression since their start in 2013, helping them win a Danish Music Award, a Carl Prize, and several nominations.
In 2021, Kalaha released ‘Mystafa’, which explored a wide range of genres including Brazilian samba, Turkish 70’s music, African highlife, desert blues, and Nordic influences, with guest appearances from psych-rock king Uffe Lorenzen and folk singer Hjalte Ross.
In August 2022, the band released their 5th album “Tutku,” created in collaboration with the Aarhus Jazz Orchestra and Hilal Kaya.
Kalaha consists of:
Niclas Knudsen: guitar & talk box
Emil de Waal: drums & percussion
Jens ‘Rumpistol’ Christiansen: synths & vocals
Anders Stig Møller: bass & laptop
