In this interactive workshop led by DEI experts MK Kirigin and Morgan Diakité, we’ll dismantle why it's important to collect diversity data, how to do so responsibly in compliance with GDPR, and how to have difficult but productive conversations with stakeholders to secure buy-in.
Full description:
One of the excuses we hear most often in Germany is that organizations cannot collect more comprehensive demographic data about their employees due to GDPR restrictions. Often, what this leads to is very slow progress or misguided, incomplete efforts towards workplace inclusion.
To create an inclusive workplace environment and tackle lack of team diversity through an effective Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) strategy, it is essential to collect employee diversity and inclusion data, not only to have a baseline to start with, but also to measure progress along the way. 📈
And yet, we find that so many organizations are hesitant to collect employee identity data due to fears about GDPR compliance — or perhaps due to fears about what the data will reveal. 🤔
It is absolutely possible to collect DEI data in Germany (we’ve done it!) and we want to make sure more people feel empowered and prepared with the tools and knowledge to do so.
👉 In this workshop, we will dismantle how to design and implement a GDPR-compliant diversity and inclusion survey in Germany.
👉 Since one of the main barriers to getting started with a survey is getting stakeholders on board, we’ll also guide you through an interactive exercise to practice having difficult conversations about diversity data with people who may not be on board or who may have questions you’re not sure how to answer.
This workshop is designed with DEI practitioners, DEI advocates, HR practitioners, and ERG leaders in mind. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Food and drinks will be provided by our hosts, audibene GmbH.
