GBLA's unwavering commitment to promoting social change and justice through the provision of high-quality legal services to the low-income and elderly community has made a significant impact. Since 1968, GBLA has strived to represent those who are unable or too afraid to speak for themselves due to racial, economic, social, or legal barriers.
GBLA is a vital resource to our community. With a poverty rate of 20.4% and a median income of $35,000, all of Kern County's residents deserve an opportunity to access the justice system. In 2022, GBLA served 4,481 people with the most critical legal needs in the areas of housing, domestic violence, guardianships, income maintenance, and access to health coverage.
GBLA's Gala and Recognition Ceremony will honor GBLA Volunteer Attorneys, interns, and staff while raising funds to expand services.
