Presented by Todd Glacy & Julia Van Daam at the Maine Art CollectiveStep into stillness. Deepen your awareness. Let art move you.
GAZE is not just an event—it’s a journey into presence through the power of visual art, sound, and community. Together, we slow down, tune in, and engage in the sacred practice of deep seeing.
In this intimate, ticketed gathering, you’ll experience:
Guided GAZE Sessions: Witness three powerful artworks as they are revealed in silence, accompanied by a meditative soundscape performed live by Todd Glacy on the gong.
Reflective Journaling: After each piece, you’ll have time to note your impressions, sensations, and insights—connecting deeply with your inner landscape.
Self-Guided Exploration: Wander the gallery and select three pieces to gaze at in your own rhythm, supported by ambient sound and thoughtful prompts.
Community Sharing: We close with optional sharing and silent meditation, honoring the unique journeys we each take through art.
GAZE is a celebration of mindful presence, artistic beauty, and the healing potential of simply slowing down. Join us in honoring art as a portal to awareness—and yourself as the witness.
Cost: $10
Meet Your Hosts
Todd Glacy & Julia Van Daam are facilitators, artists, and seekers devoted to the healing power of presence. With backgrounds in meditation, sound healing, spiritual practice, and creative arts, they’ve come together to co-create GAZE as a space of stillness, depth, and beauty.
This event is held at the Maine Art Collective, featuring work by member artists whose pieces are curated specifically for this experience.
What is GAZE?
GAZE is a guided journey into awareness through art.
Combining the stillness of meditation with the beauty of curated visual art, GAZE invites you to enter a deeper state of presence—through intentional observation, sound healing, and shared reflection.
Whether you're an art lover, a spiritual seeker, or simply craving stillness, GAZE is an opportunity to connect more deeply—with the artwork, with yourself, and with others.
Why GAZE?
In our fast-paced world, art is often consumed—not truly seen.
GAZE is a space to pause. To receive. To be transformed by the quiet power of presence.
It’s about connection—between you and the art, between you and your inner self, and between community members walking their own path of reflection.

The Experience
This private, ticketed event will unfold in three mindful segments:
1. The Guided Gaze
We begin together in a softly lit gallery space. One painting is revealed. In silence, we gaze. A live meditative soundscape (gong, crystal bowls, or ambient tones) supports your journey inward.
After 3–5 minutes, you'll be invited to gently reflect and journal your impressions. This cycle repeats with three different works of art, allowing a progressive deepening of awareness.
2. Solo Exploration
You’ll then be invited to explore the gallery and select three artworks to engage with on your own. Using a GAZE Card for prompts, you’ll enter a personal practice of still observation, sound-supported presence, and quiet reflection.
3. Integration & Sharing
We close the evening by gathering together. Those who wish may share insights, emotions, or artistic connections that emerged during their experience. We conclude with a brief silent meditation.
