A new monthly queer standup show! Benefitting New Roots!
About this Event

DOORS 7PM | SHOW 8PM

Gay Pride is great, but what about Gay SHAME?! Join us for this new monthly queer standup comedy show, hosted by comics Sheria Mattis (Netflix Is A Joke, Semi-Woke Podcast) and Ely Kreimendahl (Funny Or Die, Shame Spiral Podcast.) Every show will feature a lineup of your favorite LGBTQIA+ comics and MAYBE one lucky straight....who at the very least has some lowkey gay energy. Sheria and Ely will wrestle shamefully gay anecdotes from the comics, the crowd and each other.

Plus, this inaugural Gay Shame is extra special because all proceeds will go to New Roots, a fully-funded creative residency program in upstate New York for LGBTQIA+2S artists. In residence at the beautiful, queer and trans-owned Walhalla Farm, our organization is defined by Farm and Family. Our mission is two-fold: to support the work and process of queer artists in a retreat setting, and to share queer-centered, community-building arts experiences with our local agricultural community. We provide workspace for LGBTQIA+2S artists in a safe and inspiring rural environment. New Roots seeks to bridge the gap between queer and rural identities; to gently facilitate, nurture dialogue, and inspire warm interactions between artist, art, and onlooker.
