Sunday 15 November. SeekArt presents the Gavin Minter Quartet at Cape Town Jazz Club.
Gavin sings a song like he is telling it to you, then talks to the room between numbers like everyone has met before. Forty years, seven albums, a SAMA nomination for I’ll Be Seeing You with the Stockholm Jazz Orchestra and Winston Mankunku. Two sets of standards and the songs he is known for, including My Cherie Amour, which he has sung on stage with Stevie Wonder.
With him, Cape Town’s finest: Andrew Ford on piano, Wesley Rustin on double bass, Kevin Gibson on drums. You’re in for a treat.
