Nem ritka, hogy a sokoldalúság igézetében a nagy operaházak hangszeres művészei szimfonikus zenekart is alapítanak. Ezt tették Claudio Abbado ösztönzése nyomán 1982-ben a milánói Scala muzsikusai. A Filarmonica della Scala már többször fellépett a Müpában: ezúttal jelenlegi vezetője, a világszerte ünnepelt Riccardo Chailly vezényletével játszik. A nyitószám, Dvořák rendkívüli népszerűségű Csellóversenye korunk egyik legkiválóbb gordonkaművésze, Gautier Capuçon hangszerén csendül fel, Berio Boulez által ciklusba rendezett négy rövid zenekari darabja és Prokofjev Rómeó és Júlia-szvitje a 20. század zenéjének sokszínűségét képviseli.

It is not an infrequent occurrence for the instrumentalists of the orchestras of major opera houses, in the spirit of multifacetedness, to form their own symphonic ensembles. This is exactly what the musicians of Milan’s La Scala, with the encouragement of Claudio Abbado, did in 1982. The Filarmonica della Scala has already taken the stage at Müpa Budapest several times: on this occasion they will be performing under the baton of their current leader, the world-famous Riccardo Chailly. Serving as the soloist for the opening piece, Dvořák’s extremely popular Cello Concerto, is Gautier Capuçon, one of the finest cellists of our time. The remainder of the concert will showcase the diversity of 20th-century music, with Berio’s four short orchestral pieces which were arranged into a cycle by Boulez, followed by Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet Suite.
