Gaudenzia Women and Children's Conference 2024

Please join us for the 30th Annual Gaudenzia Women and Children's Conference on Thursday, November 7, 2024.

The goal of this year’s conference is to enable healthcare professionals to promote healthier outcomes for pregnant women and families in high-risk situations. The conference staff consists of professionals knowledgeable in assessing and treating the medical, legal, and social impact of substance use disorder. The 30th Annual Conference will enable participants to promote better outcomes for pregnant and parenting women exposed to High-Risk Pregnancy, HIV/AIDS, Substance Use Disorder, Co-Occurring Disorders, Trauma, Opioid Use Disorder, other emerging drug trends and healthcare related issues.

Attendees must pick ONE (1) morning workshop and ONE (1) afternoon workshop for the Thursday, November 7, 2024. The details for each workshop will be listed in the corresponding ticket information.

Stephanie S. Covington, PhD, LCSW

An internationally recognized clinician, organizational consultant, lecturer, and author, Dr. Covington is a pioneer in the field of addiction and trauma. For more than 35 years, she has created gender-responsive and trauma-informed programs and services for use in public, private, and institutional settings. Her extensive experience includes consulting for and developing programs for numerous U.S. and international agencies and designing women’s services at the Betty Ford Center. Dr. Covington has also developed programs for women in criminal justice settings and has conducted seminars for behavioral health professionals, community organizations, criminal justice professionals, and recovery groups worldwide. She has published extensively, including twelve gender-responsive, trauma-informed treatment curricula. Dr. Covington wrote the first manualized treatment program for substance use disorder treatment. Her newest publications are Hidden Healers: The Unexpected Ways Women in Pr*son Help Each Other Survive and the updated thirtieth anniversary edition of the best-selling book, A Woman’s Way through the Twelve Steps.

Kimberly Mull, MVSM

Policy Expert, Consultant, Public Speaker and Sex Trafficking Survivor

Kimberly Mull is a survivor turned highly sought-after policy expert, consultant, and public speaker. She was the victim of domestic child sex trafficking between the ages of 11 and 14, as well as domestic violence, multiple sexual assaults, and commercial sexual exploitation as an adult.

Now on a mission to radically shift the understanding of sex trafficking in America, Kimberly empowers her audiences to make an immediate impact in their communities.

With more than a decade of experience, Kimberly utilizes her work with victims of violence against women, which includes over 400 sex trafficking victims through direct services and resources, to influence policymakers and legislators in creating trauma-informed victim-focused policy. She has helped write, sponsor, and advocate for almost 100 laws on human trafficking, sexual assault, domestic violence, and victims’ rights.

Kimberly holds her Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy and her Master’s in Victim Services Management. She resides in Las Vegas, Nevada, with her husband and three dogs.
