Gathering the Future - A Speculative Workshop
About this Event
Join interdisciplinary artist Kuch Bhogal for a creative workshop exploring possible futures for Portsmouth through conversation, writing and drawing.
Inspired by Ursula K. Le Guin's The Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction, this three-hour workshop invites you to imagine a future shaped by community, care and cooperation rather than technology or heroism. Together we'll consider what everyday life might look like in a city transformed by rising seas and changing climates, exploring how creativity can help us imagine hopeful futures.
Through collaborative discussion, creative writing and drawing, you'll gather stories about Portsmouth's future - small, human and full of possibility. No previous creative experience is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to share ideas.
Whether you're interested in creativity, climate futures, storytelling or simply seeing Portsmouth from a new perspective, this workshop offers an opportunity to connect, reflect and imagine together.
Free to attend. Limited spaces, early booking advised.
Recommended age 18+.
