Please join John McBeth's family and friends in celebrating the life of a legend in Asian journalism. A New Zealand-born reporter and author, who covered Asia's story over five decades, John passed away on 7 December 2023.
The memorial will be held in Bangkok on 31 May, marking John's 80th birthday.
This will be a gathering that brings together people from John's wide and diverse circle of professional and personal friendships built and cultivated over his many decades working in Thailand, South Korea, the Philippines and Indonesia.
It is also an opportunity to meet Yuli Ismartono, his wife and partner of 38 years, whom he first met at the FCCT, and join her in commemorating John's amazing life.
Place: Foreign Correspondents' Club of Thailand, Maneeya Centre, Ploenchit Road, Penthouse Floor (BTS Skytrain Chitlom station).
The event will be livestreamed on Facebook.
