Gather Center Presents: Awakening : The Reverent Observer - Lucas Goly

You are warmly invited to the opening reception for the solo exhibition of works by Luca Goly, Awakening : The Reverent Observer!

Gather Center presents Awakening, a solo exhibition by Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist Luca Goly whose practice spans canvas, wearable art, and sculpture.

Public reception on Saturday, April 11, 2026, and remains on view through mid-May at 94 Guernsey Street, G, Brooklyn, NY 11222.  

Awakening : The Reverent Observer expands on Gather Center’s recurring, annually-situated Consciousness Cycle. This program proposes the journey of our becoming as a consciousness spiral which revolves with renewal and expanding progression.  Awakening follows Unconditional Humans during Lunar New Year, which explores aware passage for the collective and is followed by Resonance (Summer), Alignment (Fall) and  Embodiment (Winter).  These integrate inspiration and meaning across individual and unity consciousness, the pillars of Gather Center’s nonprofit mission. 

Awakening is the recognition of our authentic voice over and over and over again. 

Luca Goly answered such a call during the upheaval of early COVID in 2020 departing from hands-on works for the City of New York and rediscovering his passion for creating.  As a painter, Goly plays with appreciation across millennia of innovations. He assembles his perspective through color and narrative honoring what has been conceived while synthesizing all inspirations into a style uniquely his own.  Goly’s lively presence and creative fluid permissiveness evoke authenticity, play joyfully and invite us to feel the same.

During the run of the exhibition (on view through May 16) Goly will return to Gather for a series of intimate live painting events. Dates will be announced separately.

Consciousness is complete when it is shared.
