This is an Official Flatland Riders Event
Of this day, 9-11, this great country fell under attack from an unforeseen enemy. An attack that shook us all to the core. We all swore we would never forget! Well....... I know i will never forget, that's for sure. 9-11 is now known as "Patriots Day".
Looking back 24 years now, I see that anyone 30 years old and under, have no real clue of what we experienced. I also noticed that it was the adults of those years that felt it the hardest. They stood proud as we all come together in the days that followed. Fast-forward 24 years and now those proud and strong Americans are now our seniors.
So this coming Thursday, on the morning of 9-11, we will be gathering at the flagpole at Brenden Gardens (Springfield) senior living facility with those awesome Americans.
We are looking for people on bikes to meet up at Southwind Park between 10-10:50. We will be Kickstands up at 10:50am and riding in together arriving at 11am (ish).
We will join the people of Brenden Gardens, shaking hands and talking and getting to know them briefly.
We will then introduce ourselves on the PA and start the Gathering.
First things first, we will say the Pledge of Allegiance as a whole.
next, we will have a guest singer (Lisa Lowe, from the band Grounded and 2nd St Harmony) sing the national Anthem for us allowing anyone who wishes to sing along to do so.
We will then take the mic and say a little something to those in attendance and hopefully words of inspiration and pride.
Once all this is done, we will play taps over the PA and then thank all of those who attended. the event will then be dismissed as complete. But the people there may want to talk after. I hope that those who can with stick around and talk and get to know these Awesome Americans. Let's come together with them and get to know them and how they felt about all this, or not if that's not what they want to talk about. Please bring Kids as they need to see what we have to be proud of here. All are welcome whether on bikes or not.
This is an awesome chance to experience such a touching moment and something to remember and be proud of. and all before lunch on 9-11.
Please join us, we need all the bikes we can get, we only had 4 bikes last year, I know we can do better than that.
