Gather & Print: Exploring Nature and Lumen Printing

Location: Pine Meadow Ranch Center for Arts & Agriculture

Join us for a nature walk and lumen print workshop as we explore the subtle interactions between flora and light within the PMR landscape. During the workshop, participants will learn about historical and contemporary examples of lumen printing, take a short nature walk to gather materials, and conclude by creating their own ephemeral prints. Through hands-on creation of lumen prints, photographic impressions made by placing natural materials on light-sensitive photographic paper, participants will create unique images shaped by both the surrounding environment and their own experimentation with this chemical-free process.
Participants will leave with the knowledge and tools to continue exploring lumen printmaking on their own. This workshop is open to all ages and skill levels.

All materials will be provided.

For ages 16 and older. Those under age 16 may attend accompanied by an adult.

About the Instructor:

(He/Him) –Missoula, MT

My practice is rooted in the immersion and movement of body and mind through landscape. Using the book form, analog photographic practices, written word, and land-based installations, I work to explore questions around ideas of permanence, control, and human relationship to the ecosystems we inhabit.
