Almost 20 years ago, Nena and I knew that God had uniquely crafted us for each other, destined to be a forever couple. Against all odds, and despite our terrible experiences in past relationships, we ran to a small town chapel in Oklahoma and exchanged our wedding vows. In that moment, we became a blended family. We both gained daughters, and soon, a handsome son joined our family.On our 5th anniversary, I put together a small wedding for her, out of our poverty, attended mostly by prisoners and homeless people from our ministry. She loved it, but it was clear that it wasn't the wedding she would have planned or truly wanted.
Over the years, as our love expanded, so did our family with grandchildren and spiritual sons and daughters. Yet, the idea of Nena having the wedding of her dreams never left my mind.
Now, as we approach 20 years together, I want her to plan the wedding she always dreamed of. Please come and help us celebrate what only God could have done over these 20 years. Through the good times and the bad, we have still made it!
