Synopsis

Gary Malkowski A Deaf Legacy in Ontario is a feature documentary about Gary Malkowski, the first Deaf Member of Provincial Parliament in Ontario during the 1990s. The film traces his groundbreaking journey from Deaf community advocate to elected public official in a hearing dominated political system.

Through archival footage personal stories and interviews the documentary explores the barriers Gary faced in the 1990s and the determination that drove him to fight for Deaf rights accessibility and equal representation.
