Late fall is the perfect time for planting garlic in our region! Garlic is not only easy to grow but also one of the first plants to emerge in the spring. This workshop will cover everything you need to know, including the best garlic varieties for our area, step-by-step planting instructions, how to care for and dry garlic throughout its life cycle, and a hands-on pickling session where you'll quick pickle a jar of garlic cloves to take home.
Katie Colling and Cindy Gallimore from Soil Solidarity will lead the workshop, sharing tips on maintaining healthy soil and fostering a sense of community through gardening. Each participant will leave with their own jar of pickled garlic and cloves to plant at home. Plus, one lucky participant will win a special garden tool in the Dead Plant Society raffle!
