The garden is set in the historic Turton Tower grounds and was originally the kitchen garden in Victorian times. A group of volunteers have restored and created the garden over the last 16 yrs. The garden today consists of raised vegetable beds and soft fruit areas but most of the garden is divided into smaller feature gardens. Turton Tower's history is reflected in its Tudor and Victorian beds. More contemporary gardens are The White Garden and Japanese Garden. There are also 2 long herbaceous borders with a large variety of perennials.
Turton Tower is a scheduled ancient monument and grade 1 listed manor house set in extensive gardens and woodlands that has evolved over the last 600 years. From a medieval stone tower house built in the 1400s the alterations and adaptions to the building and interior have suited the needs of those who have lived here over the centuries.
