About this Event
This recording from the live class on September 18th will be available for viewing until October 31st.
Bringing dramatic changes in seasonal weather patterns, disrupting plant and animal behavior, and causing adjustments to plant hardiness zones, climate change is here and changing how we garden in Western North Carolina. This course will provide an overview of new tools that will help gardeners cultivate a climate-resilient garden. Learn about how to evaluate your climate risk, track the effect of rising temperatures with plant phenology, reduce your garden’s carbon footprint, and promote the high response and recovery capacity needed to garden successfully no matter the weather.
Laura Lengnick is an award-winning soil scientist and author of “Resilient Agriculture: Cultivating Food Systems for a Changing Climate, 2nd Edition.” She has been a sustainable food and farming researcher, activist and educator for more than 30 years.
