Day One Overview – Saturday, May 4th (9–2 PM)

Classroom Immersion Come together in our conference room with fellow growers for a day packed with essential information, ensuring you become a confident and successful grower. We'll provide snacks and breaks.

Topics covered include, but are not limited to:

Climate Considerations

• Understanding the climate in San Diego and how it affects growing.

What to plant, when to plant, and why it matters

• A deeper look into planting patterns that you can apply to all agriculture

Soil Preparation

• How to prepare your soil correctly for maximum growth
• Common soil products and how to use them
• Products worth buying and those that are not

How to feed your plants

• Understanding fertilizer products, instructions on how to use them, and how to get the most bang for your buck.
• How to feed plants for maximum production

Seed Starting

• What you need to know to germinate any seed quickly and evenly

Direct Sowing

• Learn how to direct sow with success and confidence

Day Two Overview – Sunday, May 5th (9–2 PM)

On-the-Farm Learning Experience We will meet at our organic seed production farm in Ramona, CA to reinforce what you learned in the classroom. Please bring a bagged lunch. Transportation is not included.
