New to San Diego or new to gardening? This class explains the "why" behind our unique growing conditions. Learn about our microclimates, coastal vs. inland differences, seasonal timing that differs from most of the country, and which plants thrive in our Mediterranean climate. We'll cover plant selection strategies, water-wise practices, and how to work with (not against) our year-round growing season. Discover why San Diego truly is a gardener's paradise!π Since 1972, we've focused on simple growing methods, time-tested advice, and locally-grown plants.
βοΈ We'd love to invite you down to our open-air canyon classroom for casual learning, informed by over 50 years of experience.
π¦ Free to attend, no RSVP required.
π°οΈ Class times can change or shift, we recommend you check our website for the most up-to-date (cityfarmersnursery.com).
π Parking Notice for Class Participants If you're attending a free class and are able to walk a short distance, please consider parking on Altadena Ave and walking over. This keeps our lot available for customers shopping at our three businesses who may be on tight schedules.
When classes fill up, a full parking lot can prevent other shoppers from visiting our stores. By parking on the street, you help ensure everyone can access our businesses.
Planning to shop? No worries! You can easily swing back through our "Loading Zone" after class for convenient drive-up loading of bulky purchasesβno parking required.
