Stop in Suningive House and Tour Elizabeth White's Gardens just as the flowers are beginning to bloom! Garden Tour with Mark Szutarski begins at 10 am at The General Store.
Elizabeth's historic home Suningive will be open for drop in tours and staff & volunteers from the Garden Team will be available to answer questions. Thanks to many volunteers we have information to share about the rare and endangered plant species, the bloom time of many of the beautiful rhododendrons, azaleas, mountain laurel as well as ferns unfurling, flowering trees, pitcher plants, lichen, mosses and many more plants of the NJ Pinelands. The house is 101 years old and the gardens were developed soon after.
Elizabeth designed her home to look out over the cranberry bogs, blueberry fields and gardens so be sure to tour the house and see the fantastic views from the second and third floors (sorry no elevator). We will have snacks and drinks and share the new visitor library on the first floor.
This is a free event but donations are always welcome!
Trails may be wet so we recommend appropriate attire.
The General Store will be open for shopping from 10 am - 2 pm Saturday, stop in and learn about membership, check out the photographs of the Village History, and browse local books, artwork and jams & honey.
Tours led by garden guru Mark Szutarski May 18 (10 am - 12 pm) as well as a presentation from our Archivist Heather Hegefeld in Suningive's Living Room at 12:30 pm. Stop in the first floor of Suningive to check out the exhibits too.
