About this Event
Garden Pollinators at Dusk
with Emma Moore
Friday, June 12 | 5:30 - 7:30 pm
BRN - Elective | BREG - Elective
We all think of pollinators as Bees and Butterflies, frolicking in the daylight. But what happens at dusk when the light dims? This class will introduce you to the idea of Night gardens and the pollinators that thrive in them. From Beetles to Moths and everything you can do to support them, Garden Pollinators at dusk gives you a chance to consider the world of pollination after the sun goes down.
This program takes place in the classroom and outdoors. Please come prepared to walk on gentle, yet uneven terrain, and dress appropriately for the weather.
Emma Moore is a plant ecologist but has worn many hats over the years. She graduated with her master’s from ETSU studying plant pollinator interactions and invasive moth species and in undergrad studied how tardigrades could help soybeans survive droughts. Emma has worked both in an apple research lab and as a plant genetic researcher. She has called WNC home for over 20 years and is excited to share her love of plants with you.
