Dig into the exciting world of plants, gardening, and nature at Garden Exploration Days!
Hosted by the Junior Master Gardener Program and The Gardens at Texas A&M University, this hands-on day camp series is designed for students entering 2nd–5th grade and encourages curiosity, discovery, and a love for the natural world through engaging, experiential learning.
Each Garden Exploration Day features a unique theme, giving campers the opportunity to discover a different aspect of gardening and environmental science. Using activities from the JMG curriculum, participants will investigate plant growth, soils, pollinators, insects, ecosystems, and sustainable gardening practices through interactive experiences.
Monday, October 12, 2026: Garden to Plate
Discover how fruits and vegetables grow from seed to harvest. Campers will explore edible gardens, learn about plant care, and harvest processes, while making connections between the garden and the foods we eat every day.
Tuesday, October 13, 2026: Habitat Heroes
Explore the fascinating world of wildlife-friendly gardening. Campers will investigate the needs of pollinators, birds, and beneficial insects, learn how gardens provide essential habitats, and discover ways to create healthy ecosystems that support local wildlife.
