Special thanks to our partner the City of Kennewick Parks Department for helping facilitate this event and to all the fabulous volunteers that lend their time and energy. The Heritage Garden at Hansen Park was created in 2018 with the conversion of 20,000 square feet (approx. 0.5 acre) of the city park. The Benton Conservation District (BCD) and Kennewick's Parks & Recreation staff work together to manage the garden. A team of volunteer gardeners help maintain the space. This garden is estimated to save over 440,000 gallons of water per year compared to a traditional lawn!
