Cecilia Ferneborg was born and raised in Vansbro, Sweden, and now lives in Philadelphia where she composes and performs frequently with a voice of "lyrical velvet" (AXS).While Cecilia's music is founded in the Western Dalarna forest of Sweden, it also looks ahead to create a soulful, modern and exciting environment incorporating Philadelphia's diverse music tradition.
Since her move to the United States, she has performed at festivals and nightclubs in and around Philadelphia including Center City Jazz Festival, Philadelphia Folk Festival, Paris Bistro Jazz Cafe, and World Cafe Live. Cecilia has honored her Swedish heritage playing at the Embassy of Sweden in Washington DC,
Besides writing and playing music, she is a dog trainer, an avid hiker, and shelter animal activist. She is currently in production for her upcoming EP, due to be released in 2023.
U.S.E. Trio, saxophonist Andrew Urbina, drummer Matt Scarano, and bassist Sandy Eldred, formed in late 2017. Their affinity for improvising over unique, and often improvised, musical forms is what inspired the project. Each member contributes compositions to the bands ever-growing repertory.
The trio has released five albums, "Sideways Circle", "Sideways Circle LIVE", "Impact", "Twilight", and "Happy Metal". They host two monthly music residencies in Philadelphia, the Creative Concepts in Jazz Series and Jazz Night at the Ukrainian League, whereupon they continue to workshop new compositions, arrangements, and improvisations. U.S.E. Trio is represented by Ukrainian record label, LabelWhoAble.
