GarCoWriMo: Writing Celebration Party

Calling all writers! Your Garfield County Libraries are hosting Garfield County Writing Month (GarCoWriMo) in November to celebrate the art form by helping participants build their writing repertoire, get inspiration, and collaborate with other local writers. We’d love to have you join us for a month of events, workshops, and writing spaces! We’ll begin with a Flash Story Party from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1 at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library where we’ll have a fun little story writing workshop. Then, all Mondays in November from 5 to 7 p.m. we will host writing collaboration spaces in Glenwood Springs. There will also be a flash fiction contest that runs the entire month of November and you can submit a short short or nanofiction story with a complete plot in under 750 words for a chance to win. We’ll also have The 5 to 50 Challenge running the entire month to encourage local longform writers to engage in personal challenges ranging in 5k increments from 5,000 up to 50,000 words within the month - with tiered prizes awarded at the end. The last GarCoWriMo event will be a Writing Celebration Party from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5 in Glenwood Springs. All events are free and open to all adults and teens.
