Here at the Canny Death Collective, we are fans of advance planning. We believe it's important to get ahead of being dead. Our My Farewell Wishes workshops are a lighter way to discuss planning your own funeral ceremony. You will be encouraged to start thinking and talking about how you want to be remembered when you die, and what sort of farewell ceremony you’d like. The workshops are two hours long and are designed to be participative, creative, empowering and even fun. It’s an opportunity to reflect on your life and passions, including the music that has provided the soundtrack to your life. The facilitators will share lots of ideas, examples and inspiration with you.

Each participant receives a 'My Farewell Wishes' illustrated guide and worksheet to demystify the funeral planning process. These resources provide a set of prompts to help you consider key funeral options available at civil funerals in the UK today. Options to be discussed include eco-friendly funeral choices and less conventional practices, such as living funerals.

Participants leave the event with a comprehensive draft of their funeral wishes. This is important, as planning your own funeral in advance can ease the burden on your family and friends when the time comes for your funeral to be arranged.
