Gamelan Listening Session (presented by TOKO TAPE)

This ticketed event is for the 6–7pm listening session only. The listening session is a reservation required portion of Fumi’s Mon 門 (gateway) incense release event; the larger release event (4-6p) is open to all.

Hosted by TOKO TAPE, the session features a companion tape created by Joshua Limanjaya specifically to be experienced alongside Mon 門. We invite you to burn the incense, listen to the tape, and experience the two together as scent and sound.

Drawing from his Indonesian roots, Joshua brings together percussive grooves from traditional gamelan recordings across the Indonesian diaspora with ambient edits and mixes created specifically for this release. During the listening session, he will share the stories, sounds, and choices behind the tape.

A seated listening experience with conversation, scent, and sound.
