  • Describe the potential harms associated with gambling among CYP, including impacts on mental wellbeing, relationships, education, and financial security.
  • Explain the relationship between gaming and gambling, including gambling-like features such as loot boxes, in-game purchases, skin betting, and other mechanisms that may influence gambling behaviours.
  • Identify the ways in which children and young people are exposed to gambling, including through social media, online advertising, influencers, and sports sponsorship.
  • Recognise the signs, indicators, and risk factors associated with gambling and gaming-related harm in children and young people.
  • Demonstrate confidence in having supportive conversations with young people and their families about gambling, gaming, online risks, and related harms.
  • Understand key safeguarding considerations, including the impact on CYP affected by a parent, carer, or family member’s gambling.
  • Identify appropriate referral pathways and sources of support, including specialist gambling support services.
