JOIN VISIT GALVESTON TO HONOR OUR ISLAND'S RESILIENCE AND THE 125TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE GREAT STORM
On Saturday, September 6, we will attempt to set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® title for the longest walkway, right here on the Seawall.
We’re inviting 8,125 people to form a human chain along the Seawall to honor the more than 8,000 lives lost and mark the 125th anniversary of the Great Storm. Together, we will stand as a living tribute to resilience, remembrance, and community pride.
Saturday, September 6th | Galveston Seawall
🕗 Schedule
• 8:45 a.m. – Line up along the Seawall
• 9:00 a.m. – Photo and drone flyover
• 9:30 a.m. – Ceremony at the Great Storm Statue with remarks from the Mayor and community leaders

• Free to participate (registration required)
• Rain or shine
• Wear comfortable shoes and bring water
