Artist's Gallery Talk with artist Fiona Kelly
To Land: Living Roots Awaken Draws from the rich collection of Crawford Art Gallery’s contemporary artworks, the exhibition explores how identity is shaped by our relationship with land, history, and memory. The exhibition conveys the persistence of history in the present, while themes of displacement and the urge to put down roots resonate quietly throughout the selected artworks.
join exhibiting artist Fiona Kelly and Artist-Teacher-Researcher curators Kieran Gallagher and Bairbre Geraghty for an informal in-conversation discussing Fiona’s work sculptural/ mixed media work Homing which is on view on view in the Lower Gallery.
This event is open to all, with places €6 per person.
The event will last for approximately 45 – 60 minutes.
Tea and Coffee will be served on arrival in the upper gallery. They are just permitted in this gallery are and need to be.consumed before the talk begins.

About: Fiona Kelly makes sculptural objects and printed matter with the aid of her foraged, ever-expanding archive of waste. This archive holds a compendium of debris; its natural and manmade constituents are altered and arranged to narrate human interactions with land and the relentlessness of time. She was the inaugural Artist in Residence at GannonEco, A Waste Repurposing Plant in the Irish Midlands, funded by the Arts Council of Ireland Individual Bursary Award (2020) and Project Award (2021).
