About this Event

Gallery Opening + Discussion with Cynthia Alexandra and Jason E.C. Wright

The presentation is informed by a definition of ‘Divine Alchemy’ : “Divine alchemy is the art of transmutation, the application of spiritual consciousness to physical form, so profound that an entirely new form evolves.

It is an irreversible change. A transformation that requires patience, courage and a belief in the power of spirit above all else.”

The exhibition features portraits of women who have transmuted challenges in their personal journey to empower others; they stand at various points of their own personal evolutions; some fully-formed, others still in process, but all firmly on the precipice of their next phase of embodiment.

Opening reception will feature a Q&A with the artist, hosted by Jason E.C. Wright of Burntsienna Research Society.

With respect to public health, the opening reception will proceed with limited space. All guests must register to attend. Masks will be required inside the gallery and throughout the event.

'ALCHEMY' exhibition is facilitated by Jason E.C. Wright, BRS for Burntsienna Research Society

About the Artist

Cynthia Alexandra is a self-taught photographer based in Los Angeles. She has always found herself inspired by images that capture the essence of a subject; pulling the viewer in, eliciting a visceral, emotional connection to the moment and to the image.

Her practice and approach find her doing the same; drawing as much inspiration from Hilma Af Klimt, fashion editorials, and surreal portraiture, as she does from the subtle, inherent magic in the people, places and things around her.

About the Facilitator

Jason E.C. Wright is Founder and Director at Burntsienna Research Society, an Institute of Design Research and Critical Thought.

After twenty years in the fashion retail industry, Jason E.C. Wright shifted from consulting in operations and product development, to quietly establishing Burntsienna Research Society.
